The worlds of Peter Parker and Spider-Man collide in the action-packed Marvel’s Spider-Man video game exclusively on the PS4. Miles Morales has a lot going on, what with moving to a Bắn Cá df999 new neighborhood, dealing with the loss of his father, and the whole gaining super-powers thing. After a misunderstanding with the law, Miles questions what it means to be a hero when people are ready to believe the worst in you.
You’ll regularly be stopping the same getaways with the same few button presses (the button-mashing from previous games is mercifully largely gone) or stopping a break-in by battering the same few goons. Spider-Man 2, and to an extent all great Spider-Man stories, tackle themes of adolescence and puberty – a time of uncertainty for even the most normal of teenagers trying to control bodily fluids. We join Miles at this exact point in his life, with family ties straining, friendships facing fresh challenges, and life decisions of genuine importance being posed for the first time. Actor Nadji Jeter displays all the range needed for the role, continuing to excel as a younger Spider-Man maturing before our eyes. He’s in his early twenties so has already navigated the difficult years that Miles finds himself in, but thanks to the symbiote suit, he’s working his way through yet more bodily changes.
Much later in the game, Peter (and a wildly souped-up Harry Osborn) spring Tombstone from Kraven’s henchmen. But after defeating him, Miles and Peter learn that Marko’s haunted by memories of his daughter. You’ll literally collect these scattered memories across random alleys or atop skyscrapers in the boroughs of the city.
The only thing that doesn’t come automatically from collectibles are combat trophies and a few miscellaneous open world trophies. These are all quick to do and enemies keep spawning infinitely after the story in Crimes and Mysteriums. For those with a hazy memory, there is a brief recap of both Peter and Miles’ stories so far available, which is handy, as this is very much a sequel that weaves in both plotlines and characters from the previous games and accompanying DLC. You won’t want to jump in for the first time here since Spider-Man 2 builds on the first two games both in its mechanics and its story – but of course, there’s little reason not to, since those games are also excellent. Avoiding spoilers, the basic premise revolves around Kraven the Hunter, who is, well, craving a hunt. For those uninitiated in the character, he’s essentially The Predator, an Apex hunter blessed with super strength who has chosen New York as his next hunting ground.

As a sequel in a spectacular series, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is both blessed and cursed. Its story of two Spider-Men is a great time and a Spidey fan’s dream to play through as comic book pages are brought to life, elegantly walking the tightrope between light humour and heavier themes. Meanwhile, Insomniac refines a successful formula of combat and web-swinging without revolutionising either in major ways, making them comfy and familiar with just enough new tweaks and abilities to elevate them to fun new heights.
Peter also briefly appeared in Across the Spider-Verse in both versions of his Advanced Suit. Spider-Bots are the hardest Collectible to find in Spider-Man 2, because unlike the other Collectibles, they aren’t automatically marked on the map. You can also get the ‘All-Seeing’ perk within the Traversal tab to mark them on your in-game map – use this to farm tech parts, too.

Especially with the added personal connection between Spider-Man and Venom, really highlighting Venom as the dark mirror of Peter. Hopes were high when the teasers at the end of both Spider-Man and Miles Morales teased the arrival of Venom. And, thankfully, it’s the only part of the story they actually did well.

Building on top of the classic web-swinging fun that the previous two games delivered, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduces the ability to glide using Web Wings. But they aren’t just a flashy addition from the comics and movies – they entirely change how you navigate around Marvel’s New York. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to be released exclusively on the PlayStation 5, and won’t be available on any other platforms at launch. The game’s official website mentions that the game has been “developed for the PlayStation 5 console,” and there is currently no PS4 version listed.
Lots of enhancements that make Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 feel and play differently are thanks to the system’s impressive tech. And if the henchmen have been blessed with an upgrade, then you can expect something even more intimidating from the bosses. Between Kraven’s wily viciousness and the sheer overwhelming might of Lizard and Venom, there’s a level of brutality and strength from Spider-Man’s nemeses that you didn’t see in the previous games. There have been three official trailers for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 so far, the first of which was released during the PlayStation Showcase 2021. It showed both Peter Parker and Miles Morales fighting off henchmen, before offering a first glimpse at Venom. The Symbiote Saga from the comics will influence the story, as Peter and others will be affected by Venom.
Insomniac brought back the ability to change the super-suit you have equipped. They reduced the amount of suits Peter has, as Peter and Miles each have their own suits. There is also a variety of side characters that will pop up throughout the adventure.
On the Eastern side of it is a (relatively) small building that’s on an angle compared to the buildings around it. Near where df999 stop (on the map screen, at least), look for a building under construction with a yellow crane over it. Head to the Eastern side of the building and get to the top of the yellow-netted scaffolding to find the Spider-Bot. Head for the North-Eastern corner of the plaza and look for the building wall with a vertical mural, depicting a cat on the bottom, a book in the middle, and a woman at the top. The game will be available for purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Much of Spider-Man 2’s environment is filled with skyscrapers as Peter and Miles swing through Marvel’s New York City. PC enhancements to ray tracing improve reflections, interiors, shadows, and provide ambient occlusion options for an increased depth. According to a PlayStation Blog post, NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction brings “more detailed ray-traced reflections and better-defined ray-traced shadows” for visual improvements.

All of which brings us to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s PC system requirements, with Sony’s minimum specification targeting 720p at 30fps on Very Low settings. Those with considerably more powerful hardware (which is to say, an RTX 4090 and i K/Ryzen X3D) can aim for 60fps at 4K resolutions, using Very High Ray Tracing Ultimate settings. According to its co-chief, Insomniac Games is looking to adapt more of its games to film or TV. Not only that, but Nixxes Software, the first-party Sony studio porting Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to PC, also shared a look at the PC features we can expect from the webslinger’s latest adventure on PC.
After the story you will have access to all Collectibles, can still free-roam and do all side content. Despite being awash with paramilitary criminal organisations, New York has never felt more toothless and dull. Dialogue has this odd faux-wholesome tone, like you’re trapped in a corporate training video—all careful politeness and empty one-liners. Even in emotional outbursts and tense confrontations, there’s no edge to anyone or any sense of an inner life. They’re so blandly nice it tips over into being unsettling—you keep getting that feeling like everyone’s waiting for you to leave so they can badmouth you behind your back. My hope for this sequel was that with the core action already perfected, there would be the space to improve on the wider formula, creating a more interesting New York playground. Instead, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 simply has more stuff—a bigger story, more pointless collectibles, sprawling skill trees, and double the Spider-Men.
